Dear CERA Members,

On behalf of the CERA Executive, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you for your participation in this year’s CERA conference. We deeply appreciate the time and effort you invested in presenting, attending sessions, and fostering rich discussions throughout the conference. Your engagement, insights, and contributions were instrumental in making this year’s event such a meaningful and successful gathering.

I am also pleased to share that both the successes and concerns raised by members and the Executive have been brought forward to the CSSE Board of Directors. Your voices are important, and they play a vital role in shaping the continued growth and improvement of CERA and CSSE.

As mentioned at the AGM, the Executive will be bringing forward a motion to revise the wording of the David Bateson Award so that it more clearly emphasizes recognition of research scholarship. This clarification ensures that the award is not tied to travel, while travel support continues to be available through the Graduate Student Travel Award. CERA will be setting up a digital vote on this proposed revision—please look for a message about this from CSSE in the coming weeks.

Looking ahead, I encourage you to consider submitting proposals for next year’s CERA conference. The call for proposals is expected to be released in August, when the host of next year’s CSSE conference is determined. 

I trust that you found this year’s conference to be a productive and rewarding experience, with ample opportunities to network and reconnect with friends, colleagues, and fellow scholars. Wishing each of you an enjoyable and restful summer—an opportunity to relax, refresh, and recharge.

Au nom du comité exécutif de l’ACCÉ, nous vous remercions d’avoir participé au congrès de cette année. Nous apprécions sincèrement le temps et les efforts que vous avez consacrés à la présentation de vos communications, à la participation aux séances et à la tenue de discussions enrichissantes. Votre engagement, vos réflexions et vos contributions ont joué un rôle déterminant dans le succès et la richesse de cette année.

Je suis heureux de vous informer que les réussites et les problèmes soulevés par les membres et le comité exécutif ont été portés à l’attention du conseil d’administration de la SCÉÉ. Vos avis sont importants. Ils jouent un rôle essentiel dans la croissance et l’amélioration continues de l’ACCÉ et de la SCÉÉ.

Comme indiqué lors de l’assemblée générale annuelle, le comité exécutif propose une motion visant à modifier le descriptif du prix David Bateson afin de mettre davantage l’accent sur la reconnaissance de l’excellence en recherche. Cette clarification garantit que le prix n’est pas lié aux frais de déplacement, ceux-ci étant disponible par les bourse de déplacement pour les étudiants de cycles supérieurs de la SCÉÉ. L’ACCÉ organisera un vote en ligne sur cette proposition de modification. Veuillez attendre un courriel à ce sujet à partir de la SCÉÉ dans les semaines à venir.

Pour l’avenir, je vous encourage à envisager de soumettre des propositions pour le congrès de l’ACCÉ de l’année prochaine. L’appel à propositions devrait être publié en août, une fois que l’hôte du congrès de la SCÉÉ de l’année prochaine aura été désigné. 

J’espère que vous avez trouvé le congrès de cette année productif et enrichissant, et qu’il vous a offert de nombreuses occasions de nouer des contacts et de renouer avec vos amis et collègues. Je vous souhaite à tous un été agréable et reposant, l’occasion de vous détendre, de vous ressourcer et de récupérer.
